I (Mike) started playing youth soccer in Oxnard in the mid 70's. And then pursued track and field as an 800 meter runner threw out my high school and college career eventually running in the NAIA National Championship representing California Lutheran University. Then returned to soccer after finishing school, where I then played in the men's Conejo Valley league and Simi Valley men's league. I been living in Simi Valley for over 25 years. And have been coaching for over 12 years and 3 of those years have been in Club Soccer. I believe in educating players before they began playing soccer. I also hold an E license.

Dave Newman has coached soccer for over 20 years and holds a National “D” Level Coaching License. He was the first coach of the Varsity Girls Soccer Program at Grace Brethren High School in Simi Valley in its initial season. He coached the Boys Varsity at Hillcrest Christian H. S. in Granada Hills and coached the JV Girls Team and the Varsity Goalies at Newbury Park H.S.

In the early 90’s he coached for Simi Valley Premier Club and then in 2003, formed Simi Valley Arsenal Girls Club Team which continued until 2008. He then coached for Moorpark Express for 2 seasons before coming over to Ajax. He has girls on Several High School teams: Simi, Royal, Moorpark, La Reina, Westlake and El Camino HS.

Dave was on the Board of Simi Valley Youth Soccer for 15 year’s, and Vice President for 4 year’s.

His philosophy is simple….you always play hard and to win, and as long as the player does her best, listens to directions and puts out the expected effort….win or lose, he is usually pretty satisfied.

Dan Irvin has been coaching at the youth and club level since 2001. He holds an E coaching license.
